Spending the Spring Festival
The Spring Festival, also known as the Chinese New Year, is the most important traditional festival in China. It is a time when families get together to celebrate and enjoy each other's company.
During the Spring Festival, my family usually cleans our house to sweep away bad luck and make room for good fortune. We also put up decorations such as red lanterns, couplets, and paper cutouts to create a festive atmosphere. On New Year's Eve, we have a big family dinner where we eat delicious food and enjoy each other's company. After dinner, we watch the Spring Festival Gala on TV, which is a popular program featuring traditional Chinese performances.
On New Year's Day, we visit our relatives and friends to exchange greetings and wish them good luck for the coming year. We also receive red envelopes with money inside, which is a traditional gift given to children.
